Checklist to perfectly enjoy your ball

Get your ball tickets: Also consider to book a seat with your ticket. During a long dancing night it might be quite comfortable to stretch your legs every now and then.

Book your hotel room: We clearly recommend the centrally located Hotel Josefshof am Rathaus with its convenient late check-out options and breakfast buffet until 12 p.m. :) Book online here

Check your ball wardrobe: Do you have an outfit matching the ball's dress code? Does it still fit or are changes necessary? Does it need to be cleaned? You can also borrow a gala wardrobe from a clothes or costume rental. Timely fitting and reservation is recommended.

Try on your dancing shoes: Are they fitting properly or pinching somewhere? Think of breaking in new shoes in good time and don't forget some blister pads. At best, you can save someone else's evening with them. :)

Make an appointment at the hairdresser's: Whether it's a fresh cut or an artfully designed updo - you can image that Vienna's hairdressers are quite busy before a big ball. Arrange your appointment on time.

Do not forget your tickets!

Bring cash and change for consumptions, tips and cloakroom

Note some numbers of taxis to get home quickly

Bring Toiletry bag with deodorant, powder, lipstick, blister pads, spare tights, safety pins ... for refreshing and small emergencies

For the ladies: Flat shoes to change, at the latest for the way to the Würstelstand

Apropos Würstelstand

"A Würstelstand (literally "sausage stand"; plural "Würstelstände") is a traditional Austrian street food retail outlet selling hot dogs, sausages, and side dishes."

A visit at the Würstelstand in tailcoats and ball gowns is a very popular and typical Viennese way to end a nice long ball night. Here are our recommendations.

Bitzinger's is located directly behind the State Opera House and next to the Albertina museum. It is considered one of the best in Vienna. A wide range of typical sausage specialities and side dishes are offered along with beer, wine and champagne. Open daily until 4:00 a.m.

The sausage stand near "Volkstheater" was voted the most popular in 2018 by the gourmet magazine "Falstaff". Open daily until 4:00 a.m.

The sausage stand at "Hoher Markt" is always at the top of the relevant rankings. It is worth a stop not only after a ball, but also during sightseeing or shopping in the city center. Open daily until 4:00 a.m.
